Not feminism: I hate men! Women are so much better than men! All men are rapists and we don't need their help! Men are just there to oppress us and keep us down! Women are the superior gender.
Not feminism: You're giving up your career to have a baby? You're being dictated to by a man! That's the wrong choice! You've slept with twenty men? Wow, way to show that you have no respect for yourself.
Feminism: Women and men are equal. No-one should be discriminated against on the basis of their gender. Women have the right to decide how to live their life, how to dress, what to do with their body and who to love.

The day my Mom left me (emotionally/mentally) was one of the worst days of my life. I remember the exact day, March 12th 2013, yet, I don’t really remember our exact fight. All I remember is being really sad and my Mom coming in and trying to talk, but I just didn’t have the energy to say anything, so I shook my head and she took it as a gesture of disrespect. She then lost her patience with me and started to yell, she told me she was done with me and my bullshit and that if I wanted to talk about something, to find someone else. Since then, we aren’t the same. We rarely talk and when we do, it’s about how terrible my grades are and how I’m not going to do well in life. I can’t talk to her about how I am talking to other guys, or how I have gained weight and how I am friends with my ex again, I can’t tell her all of the good things that have happened to me in the past month or two. I miss my Mom. She may be there physically, but she is not there emotionally. If you’re still reading this, all I ask is that you respect your family, talk to them as often as you can because when they’re gone (either physically or emotionally), you’re going to miss them.

I have been bitter.

I have even thought of cutting you off & pretending i’d never met you.

But i love you.

I could be angry.

I could be bitter.

I could cut you off & pretend i’d never met you.

But i’d rather love you.

I may have to love you from miles away, but please know that it’s always been love for you.

We were too stupid to realize that 1 bed for 2 people doesn’t always create intimacy,

That sharing a lease doesn’t make us equally yoked,

That playing house doesn’t make our home stable.

We could have been magic if we’d just let the spark grow on its own.

Instead we fed it lighter fluid and flints.

Now we’re left with ashes where our home used to be.

Such is youth and the drive for instant gratification.

I know better now.

And i know a love like what we have is most assuredly worth waiting lifetimes for.
